The challenge
The existing porch had no shade and a shallow roof line with nowhere obvious to anchor a frame. The owner also wanted the awning to read as part of the house rather than an add-on bolted to the front.
What we did
We ran a steel frame off the structural columns instead of the facade, then finished it in charcoal ACP to match the existing window trims. Fall was set at 1:60 toward a concealed gutter so nothing drips across the entrance.
