The Brief
A narrow side alley in Kajang used as a wet kitchen, needing cover that would not turn the space into a dark tunnel.
The challenge
Only four feet wide with a high wall on one side. A solid roof would have made the alley unusable without lighting on all day.
What we did
UV-blocking polycarbonate sheeting on a slim aluminium frame. Daylight still reaches the alley, the wall stays dry, and the electricity bill did not move.
