The challenge
The solid balustrade blocked the only natural light reaching the staircase, but the owners have young children and were nervous about glass.
What we did
Tempered glass at the correct thickness for the span, seated in a base channel rather than clamps, with a stainless handrail along the top edge. Light reaches the stairwell and the barrier is stronger than what it replaced.
